American soprano Alayne Faraone enjoys an active career in opera, and on the concert stage. She has appeared with The Los Angeles Opera, The Santa Fe Opera, Taconic Opera, The El Paso Opera, The San Diego Opera Ensemble, Santa Barbara Grand Opera, Pacific Repertory Opera, and Inland Cities Opera in Riverside, California. She has been featured as a soloist with The Debussy Trio, The Halcyon Trio, The Santa Fe Symphony, The Manhattan Chamber Orchestra and Chorale, and The Bakersfield Symphony.
Acclaimed in Opera News for her “powerful soprano,” Ms. Faraone made her debut as Musetta in La Boheme with El Paso Opera and returned for the role of Gianetta in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore. With The Los Angeles Opera she performed the role of Manja in Kálmán’s Gräfin Mariza as well as Papagena in Mozart’s Die Zauberflötte. With Pacific Repertory Opera she was featured as Nedda in I Pagliacci.
Ms. Faraone has performed the role of Cio Cio San in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly with The Taconic Opera. She premiered the role of Helen for The Manhattan Theater Company, in Peter Hilliard’s new opera-boufe, The Brazilian. Ms. Faraone was also featured in Finzi’s In Terra Pax, at Carnegie Hall with The Manhattan Chamber Orchestra and Chorale.
Other roles in her repertoire include the title role in Puccini’s Tosca, Hanna Glawari in Die Lustige Witwe, Violetta in La Traviata, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Fiordiligi in Così fan Tutte, The Governess in The Turn of the Screw, and Micaёlla in Carmen.
