Limecrime is one of the most controversial makeup brand. It is known for producing overly bright makeup that defies all the rules. Those who love Limecrime products are known as unicorn and the queen of unicorns is the company’s founder, Doe Deere.

Doe Deere was born and raised in Russia. She only moved abroad when she was 17 years of age. When she first moved to New York, she had the dream of becoming a musician and that is how her career started. Even though she is in a totally different industry today, music life taught her valuable lessons that she still uses in business today. Music taught her marketing skills. She also learnt to be appreciative of when people turn up for events.

Deere was interviewed by Guest of a Guest and asked all about her business and personal life. She said that she had always had the love for business since she was a kid. At the age of 13, she would sell temporary tattoos. She had discovered this and worn them to make her classmates think that wearing them was cool too. And, that is how she got her sticker tattoos selling.

Doe Deere old Guest of a Guest that she met her husband while in the New York band. Her husband was in the same band. Today they continue to share a similar passion. Her husband works at Limecrime as the president of the company.

Asked to give advice to other women, Deere said that the key to success is being in touch with yourself. She believes that everyone has something that is special about them. Once you begin to discover yourself and find the special skill that you possess, you start to flourish.

Deere’s company, Limecrime, was launched in the year 2008. This was after Deere had tried to look everywhere for bright makeup that would match with her overly bright clothes. So, she decided that she might as well be the first to start intensely pigmented makeup. She added this to her existing products, sold on her EBay account and that’s how it all started. She used the knowledge she had obtained from FIT and her career experience to help her market her business. Today, she is one of the most influential people in the makeup industry, producing lipsticks, eye shadows, nail polish and most recently, hair dye.
